How Generation-Z will remodel the map of Education

The Millenials have ruled the world but the future belongs to Generation Z. This generation is the next generation of higher education students, presently attending schools. In education, the survey states that around 93% of this generation students consider technology in the classroom essential to nurture their creativity and prepare them for their future career.

Not just technology this generation believes in social learning which is not limited to geographical borders. Online learning that is available at any time, anywhere is their must-have facility. They expect on-demand services that can help them to focus them in the right direction in their career. This generation is not just limited to Instagram and Facebook story sharing but more focused and career-driven. Most of them already involved in one or another type of business or startup and therefore they need an educational institution that can add value in their skills, that can act as a catalyst for their career. And Generation Z won’t settle for less.

What is the role of an educational institution toward generation Z?

Gen Z is the generation that is not a passive learner, they are the answer finder or if they don’t find the answer they will create the answer for the curious mind. They have an ample amount of resources to enhance their knowledge, the generation where 4G and 5G internet is delivering 24*7*365 access to all over the world.

So, how educational institutions will exist in this digital generation?

There is no doubt that any technology or any amount of internet can’t replace the human touch of education and teachers but to stay “relevant” for Gen Z, education institutions need to pace up with the digital world.

Educational institutions need to increase their digital presence not only in the learning area but also in administrative management. These students are realistic, they believe in transparency and connectivity. Any institute without technologically advanced management system will lose the interest of Gen Z students. For proper management of student technology like SaaS, Student Information System with cutting edge technology is now the necessity for higher education institutions to maintain the admissions retentions of students.

Coming to learning management system colleges and University are already on their way to increase their digital presence with online courses, video lectures, podcasts, and 24*7 teacher availability via portals. Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Machine Learning will rule the education sector for Generation G.

Educational Institutions have to show this generation that how their education process can make them stronger, more skilled and future-ready.

How to meet the expectation of Gen Z?

This is the generation that is passing through the tragical events such as 9/11, 2008 financial recession, terrorism, and whatnot. Gen Z doesn’t live in a fantasy of the ideal world, they live in reality and they understand it. Emerging technology and self-reliance to get learning haven’t lost their faith in the education institutions and educator. In a recent survey by Deloitte The Deloitte Global Millennial Survey 2019, Gen Z has put the onus on educators for preparing workers for Industry 4.0 i.e. industries with smart factories with advanced connectivity and where whole work can be visualized to aid in decision making.

That means the next generation of students is already putting their money on education sectors and educators, rest must be done by the educational institution.

Now it’s the responsibility of the institution to make themselves ready to meet the expectation of the Gen Z by diving into active digital transformation, automation of the administrative system, by shifting towards a more practical approach of education and last but not the least delivering the world-class student service to help Gen Z to succeed in their future.

5 Mistakes Institutions Are Doing While Choosing Education ERP

When it comes to choosing an Education ERP solution for an institution, decision-makers and administration do multiple mistakes. It is assumed that educators are the decision-maker when selecting an EdTech for an institute, but it’s not like that. Upper management, administration, and educators all are responsible to make a decision for any advancement in their institution.

As they are representative of the institute they are supposed to make effective decisions and set an example for their followers. But it is not always the case. After analyzing various decision-makers of institutes, we realize that there are various mistakes they are making while selecting an Education Technology Solution (Software).

Below are the five such mistakes institutions are making which should be taken care of:

Ignoring the needs of the institution

There are different pain areas for different institutions. Some institutions are able to manage their fee and bill payments some are not. Some institutes provide transportation services for students and employees some do not. There are various kinds of needs for institutions and according to them, there are many EdTech solutions available in the market.

Due to competition and ignorance toward the needs of their institution, they get distracted by multiple options of technology in the market. It is the responsibility of administration and decision-makers to consult with teachers, and discuss with students about the actual need of the institution so that they can avoid waste of time and money on implementing the wrong technology.

Adopting an EdTech that they don’t comprehendInstitutions mistakes when choosing education erp software

The main purpose of implementing an EdTech in schools of higher education institutions is to increase overall efficiency in the management processes. This can be achieved if users understand what they are using.

Many times decision-makers in institutes end up buying technology that they don’t understand completely and the whole purpose of using the solution goes haywire.

Therefore, it is important for institutions they make sure that teachers, students, and other staff members understand what technology they are going to use before buying it.

Not having a proper strategy for technology usage

Technology implementation should be done with a proper plan. Users should know what could be done with the technology in hand. It is the responsibility of the administration department to make a technological model and share it with every other employee, what function is acceptable and what is not. To make the most of technology, it is important to have a strategy for technology usage.

Not preparing educators and other staff

This is the most common mistake that institutions are making while choosing EdTech solutions for their institute. Educators, students, and other management staff are the important user of any technology update in an institute. In spite of that institutes usually, ignore this fact and pre-assume that they will be able to use any technology easily. It is very important to prepare and train educators and other members before making any technological changes within an institution.

Not getting proper training

Education ERP solution providers usually offer implementation and product training. They also provide customer support later on for any query. It is the utmost priority of an institute to have thorough training on the product after the purchase and before implementation.

Without comprehensive training, there will be no output of the product. The administration department of institutes should have a team member from all other departments for the training so that the technology can be used easily and efficiently.

Bottom Line

When choosing an Education ERP for schools or higher education, it is crucial to do a proper analysis of technology, available choices, research of the market, and the status of the institution.

It is obvious to get distracted by the multiple options available and the hype of competition. The main objective should always be kept in mind that you are choosing an EdTech solution to make academic processes streamline, fast and cost-effective not complex and confusing.

Do you know the implementation of an Education ERP can help you to save up to 50% on the operating cost of your institution?

Why do parents fall in love with the ERP system?

Regardless of the types of education institutes, it is very important for these institutes to use technological tools such as ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems. In most cases, these educational institutions use these systems to ensure that they can manage their organization much better than they otherwise would have. At the same time, the administration wants to offer its teachers and students a better overall experience. In addition, there exist certain reasons in these systems which makes parents fall in love with them. We shall discuss a few of them in the below section.

Registration

Registration is one of the first features that parents love in an ERP system. Today it is a common feature of all the ERP systems at the education institutes. With this system, parents can register their children for the next school year. These systems also provide the option to submit proof of income and online registration forms.

Online support for students

Today, the ERP systems also have online support capabilities that benefit students and parents alike. In fact, these systems are designed so that all authorized persons can view and track the records if they desire. Parents can also log into a window to see if their children are going to school/college regularly or not. The advantage of these systems is that they can see the support in real time and at the same time be informed about the changes taking place.

Fee management

One of the biggest benefits of ERP software is that parents always have the most up-to-date information about the fees they pay for their children. They can always see the updated price plans and stay up to date on this important aspect of their children’s education at all times. With these systems, they can easily take care of all the details and receive notifications about the fees to be paid.

Connect with the teachers

For most parents, it is very difficult to talk to teachers about their children’s performance. They just do not have time to participate in such discussions. However, with an online ERP system, parents can easily connect with students and track their progress or absence. These systems also allow them to see all the details about their children’s performance during various academic examinations and various other exams.

how ERP System benefit parents student

Institute schedule

In most cases, these systems also imbibe institute calendars that provide complete information about the structure of the academic year where one can find details on the following topics and more:

  • Public holidays
  • Events
  • Examination schedule
  • Time-Table
  • Schedule of the conference

Access progress reports

As mentioned earlier, these ERP systems can provide parents with all the information they may need about their children. The most important thing, however, is undoubtedly the progress report. All parents want to know if their children are performing well or not, and the best way to evaluate them is to talk about their progress. With the help of these systems, parents no longer have to wait until the day of the results to find out if their children have been successful. Thanks to these systems, they can also receive this information throughout the year.
As mentioned in the article, these systems also allow parents to know about their children’s performance during various tests and in real time. It also ensures that they can immediately identify gaps in their children’s learning and address areas where there may be gaps. In this way, they can also ask for help in this respect because the additional care before the gap as such is a major problem.

Vehicle Tracking

This is a big advantage of the ERP systems we are talking about here. These are the uncertain times that we are talking about and therefore there is a constant need for parents to know where their children are regularly. This includes all school and college trips as well as the various school/college picnic trips in which they regularly participate. With the help of an online ERP system, parents can get a detailed road map of the bus that brings their children to school and back to school. Also, through the inbuilt notification system, they can get the update regarding their child boarding status and can also get the alerts if any accident or mishaps occur during the travel time.

Modern Technological Tools That can Improve Classroom Experience

Educational institutions in today’s time need a power booster that can essentially help them in shaping complete institutional operations effectively along with making the classroom experience enhanced and better. Educational institutions need to maintain their level by choosing a modern classroom technology that can help in increasing the experience of the classroom making them more modern and technologically upgraded.

Various technologies can help institutions to meet all the technical aspects of having smooth, consistent, and transparent management in the institution. There are various designed tools for educational institutions that can help teachers, staff, and students in day-to-day tasks like daily attendance, timetable management, managing academic and administrative tasks like and most importantly in enhancing the student and modern classroom technology.

Let’s discuss some of the points that can help institutions attain classroom technology trends:

  • Virtual Reality and its effects on modern learning

Virtual reality is one of the most important and basic uses of modern technology in classroom teaching, it provides a next-level experience for higher education classrooms giving a lot of potential for immersive learning.

Education relies on appropriate learning activities in a simulated environment, it provides a safe, interactive, and engaging, it helps in expanding properly.

Virtual reality helps faculty to teach students, providing them experience destinations from across the world in the same classroom. This leads to enhancing students’ learning providing them a different experience from any aspect.

  • Audiovisual presentation for better understanding

Old were the days when manual interventions of teaching and learning in institutions led to improper understanding among students and faculty. In the modern world, various technologies promote the audio-visual presentation of lessons through which students can understand more properly and learn accordingly.

  • Tech-upgraded digitally smart blackboard to enhance learning

Blackboards are considered as one of the oldest and best ways of teaching and learning in any educational institution. But with the enhanced technology in this sector and uses of modern technology in classroom teaching blackboards are also now digitally smart and are helpful in modern education. Teachers can operate a whiteboard, allowing a person to write on them with real or digital markers.

  • An efficient and robust ERP for completing academic and administrative operations

ERP for higher education institutions is one of the best technological tools that increase the experience for modern classroom technology, an efficient and robust ERP manages all the academic and administrative tasks like examinations management, fee management, admission management, library management, and all other tasks removing manual interventions of the institutions by bringing automation and digital transformation in best ways. Institutions must choose a very good ERP solution like Academia. Impact of Privatization in The Indian Education Sector

Education plays an important role in our lives. It shapes and molds us to take on the challenges and opportunities coming our way and prepares us for life itself. Education defines our employability, income, standard of living, social status, and professional life. Hence, the demand for education in the world will always be high.

Unfortunately, when the demand for education in post-independence India rose, the state and central governments lacked the resources to meet it. It lacked funds, resources, infrastructure, and teachers, which increased the cost of education, making it a luxury for people from different walks of life. And hence, the government encouraged individuals and organizations to establish colleges and deemed universities, resulting in the rise of many self-financed arts and science, engineering, and medical colleges.

This helped in meeting the growing demand for education, and also the availability of education institutes increased the demand further, causing the institute to apply for additional seats to meet the ever-increasing demand for education. However, there are both negative and positive impacts of the privatization of the Indian education sector.

How is the privatization of the Indian education sector impacting society?

In a 2022 report by Statista, it was drawn that as of 2020, there were 1043 universities, 11,779 stand-alone institutes, and 42,343 colleges in India.

Statistics published in LiveMint also suggest that the share of unaided private education institutes to the total number of education institutes has raised from 42.6% to 78.6% between 2001 to 2020. More than half of the institutes in India are privately owned and financed by private individuals.

Positive Impact of Privatisation in the Indian Education Sector

In an over-populated country like India, privatization has helped reduce the gap between resources and made education accessible to all. A provider of education is a government responsibility, and a primary goal is to build a skillful population; without the availability of private higher education institutes, the government would have failed miserably at it.

Also, since education requires more and more investment which may evade the fiscal power of the government, having private players in the industry helps them meet the growing demand for education and a variety of programs and courses. Economically speaking, privatization in the education sector of India has made a positive impact.

Some of the few positives are:

  • Increased accessibility of education even in the remotest locations.
  • Decreased financial burden on state and central government.
  • Generation of employment and income opportunities to educate youth.
  • Teaching skills that are highly demanded in the current job market.

Negative Impact of Privatisation in the Indian Education Sector

Although the privatization of the Indian education sector has relieved the government of its spending in the education sector, and the same cannot be said for the population. About 33.5% of respondents in the research responded privatization increased the cost of higher education.

Private institutes are found to charge different fees to increase their income. Adding to the cause is systemic corruption in the government, allowing providing institutes to increase their fees, making higher education more and more unreachable to the poor and middle-income population.

Quality of education is also under question, as most private education institutes are found to employ unqualified, inexperienced people based on caste, religion, and region. Inproficiencies such as poor language, subject, and character are very common in private institutes.

Some of the few negatives are

  • Poor infrastructure facilities lack basic amenities such as clean drinking water, hygienic toilets, labs, hostel, dormitories, libraries, etc.
  • Turned education into a business and profit-making commercial good in a materialistically-driven society.
  • Turned education into a restless service, wherein exams, classes, and tests are held during holidays. Assignments and projects are an addition to the quality of education but a customary process.
  • Cramming, assignments, and test writing do not give way to innovation and lifelong learning.
  • Bad academic environment due to lack of support and cooperation from the management, staff, non-teaching staff, and subordinates.
  • Partiality towards the students and favoritism are common in private education institutes.

Concluding

There are both positives and negatives to privatization in the Indian education sector. The government’s initiative to promote privatization in higher education has helped increase access to education and was an economically viable option. But quality cannot be compromised in any way. It is important for the government to make strict rules about the infrastructure, facilities, staff, environment, accountability, results, and curriculum to ensure students get access to quality education and are growing vocationally, socially, mentally, and skill-wise.

Are You Looking For Right Education ERP?

Buying an ERP is still being the biggest problem for organizations and especially for education institutes. There’re only a few good options available in the market for education ERP. It is important to take the right decision since buying an ERP is a very time consuming and expensive decision that would last for a really long time. And making mistake in such a decision is irreversible.

Consider these important factors while buying an ERP solution for your Institute:

  • Proper & Consistent Update: When choosing an Institute management software, it’s very important to adopt a solution that will keep evolving and continue to get better along with every passing decade.
  • Flexibility: The software should adapt to the changes in the institute rather than the Institute adapting to what the software offers. An Institute management system should be robust and should be capable to take up all the existing data from day 1.
  • Reliability: In choosing an institute management system, it is sensible to always go for the tested and trusted product. Consider how long other Institutes have been using it and how do they feel about it?.
  • Evolution: Has it been serving institutes in accordance with the needs of society and the changing era and will the software be fit for meeting the growing needs of the students, teachers, etc.
  • Long-term Support: Ensure that the solution you choose is from a well-established company that is specialized in a software solution for education only, which could be very beneficial.
  • Accessibility: Any solution that you choose should be able to cater to both offline processes& online tasks, depending on your institute’s infrastructure and equipment.
  • Scalability: Unless the solution is scalable it will be unusable or rather say not of much use. Look at its track record of existing clients and the duration that the software has been in use for that will help you a lot while shortlisting.
  • Impact on Learning: Any education software that does not positively contribute to the institute’s knowledge base does nothing but hinder its growth in all aspects.

Driving Educational Campuses In Modern Way And Why You Need It

One of the most serious issues with endeavouring to add innovation to your school lies in attempting to comprehend what sorts of programming are out there and how they can help.

Without this understanding, it can be difficult to defeat some of your school’s or area’s difficulties.

One essential — however critical — factor that keeps school authorities oblivious about what’s out there is that there’s a great deal of befuddling wording twirling around in the “EdTech” space. (For some, “EdTech” itself is a case of simply such a befuddling term; it’s shorthand for “Instructive Technology.”)

There are numerous terms to filter through. Some are simple language words alluding to digest thoughts, while others are authentic names for normal and imperative programming.

Keeping in mind the end goal to kick you off, how about we take a glance at a moderately direct EdTech term that is basic to K-12 business forms however that can infrequently appear to be confused to EdTech newcomers — ERP.

What is ERP Software?

ERP remains for Enterprise Resource Planning.

Put basically, ERP programming (now and again just called an Enterprise Resource Planner, or, “an ERP”) is programming that oversees business forms for an organization, association, or, for your situation, a school/region.

So how do ERPs “oversee business forms?”

The way it works is that ERPs include different “applications,” or apparatuses, that cooperate flawlessly to interface divisions and bring the information from those different offices together into one database. Whatever errand you have to finish — be it ordering a nitty gritty year-end report or basically keeping an eye on the status of your Accounts Receivable — ERPs put all the data you require comfortable fingertips.

Why Your K-12 School District Needs ERP Software

To comprehend the advantages of utilizing a decent ERP programming, we should take a glance at the framework’s principle capacities as they identify with K-12 school locale.

Robotization:

Robotization is perhaps the most supportive capacity of ERP programming.

ERPs are intended to take numerous undertakings and do them for you, particularly assignments that you do (consistently, week, month, or year).

A case of frequently repeating work that a K-12 monetary administration ERP could improve the situation you would assemble a report of the cash your school area spent a month ago. The ERP consequently pulls particular information from among every one of the applications inside the framework with the goal that you don’t need to look for the data you require. Great ERPs even enable you to arrange the normal reports with the goal that they indicate precisely the data you need them to in precisely the way you need it appeared.

Along these lines, as should be obvious, ERP programming spares you time through robotization, which thus (since we as a whole know “time is cash”) will help your region’s money related primary concern, as well.

Reconciliation:

Another capacity of ERP programming is reconciliation.

Reconciliation fundamentally just alludes to one bit of programming’s capacity to “talk” to another bit of programming. At the point when the product from at least two separate divisions (say, your school area’s Financial Accounting office and its HR office) work firmly together by sharing information, your whole locale turns out to be more proficient and more compelling.

By utilizing ERP programming to consequently share data amongst HR and Accounting, for instance, representatives never again need to enter numbers physically into PCs more than once (if by any stretch of the imagination). Such sharing altogether eliminates information passage mistakes.

In addition, great ERP implementation arrangements keep up your information continuously, which means when you enter data into the framework, every associated office promptly start working from the refreshed information.

By enhancing the exactness of your information, you’ll have the capacity to approach each choice you make in your part with more prominent certainty.

Association:

ERP programming likewise encourages your whole locale to remain composed, not simply from division to office as we examined under “Incorporation,” yet in addition inside every individual office.

Clearly, programming when all is said in done will help your specialization to abstain from depending on scattered papers, sticky notes, and just requesting that your associates make sure to accomplish something. In any case, a great ERP goes significantly further.

As said above, ERPs involve various applications, or “applications” (basically devices), and each application imparts data to all the rest. Along these lines, for instance, if you somehow managed to add a seller record to your framework in one place, the ERP at that point would consequently add that merchant to all significant applications (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and so forth.).

Along these lines, ERPs keep all your data sorted out, both generally speaking and inside the individual applications, which encourages your specialization to end up more proficient.

The Best ERP Software

At last, the fundamental advantage you get from an excellent ERP programming framework (rather than bland ERP programming) is that it will be planned particularly for your necessities as a K-12 school region. All things considered, you would prefer not to work around programming settings that were worked for a retail business or a non-benefit association.

In addition, however, the best ERP programming frameworks to consider are those that are flexible. Along these lines, past just being outlined for the most part for K-12 school areas, the best ERPs will enable you to arrange the alternatives in a way that works as indicated by your particular needs as an extraordinarily singular K-12 school region.

When you’re ready to set up your product for your school area’s extraordinary needs, you basically are setting up your region for progress.

Truth be told, the capacity to tweak and arrange is such a critical element with regards to ERPs that we at Serosoft Solutions have composed the greater part of our ERPs so they can be designed however bodes well for every one of our customers.

At that point, we took this arrangement between ERP programming and the remarkable needs of individual schools above and beyond.

We’ve fabricated a few distinctive ERP programming frameworks so as to all the more fittingly serve diverse kinds of school areas in light of elements, for example, school/region size, area, and that’s just the beginning.

Technology in Education- What’s the Future!

Technology is changing every aspect of our lives, and education is one of the most important sectors that need to be modernized and advanced leading to the overall growth of the institution. Meanwhile, it is also essential that institutions must understand the right usage and importance of educational technology. Technology these days is far more than digital whiteboards, learning management systems, and such technological tools. So which technology are you using in your institution to be in the technological touch? Let’s discuss some of the important technologies and their benefits for education institutions.

To understand it better, let’s first understand why technology is important for educational institutions.

Different technologies and their benefits in education:

  • ERP for seamless academic & administrative workings

Various types of educational technology are evolving in the modern world that are supporting institutions, but ERP is the only and one of the leading technologies that provide complete automation of all the academic and administrative activities in the institution. It can manage all the operations like admission, enrollment, fee, hostel, library, transportation, examination, result declaration, and even alumni of the institution using a single software. A good ERP system even provides a simple and coding-free portal with a mobile application through which all the stakeholders like students, faculty, parents, administrators can manage their tasks effectively.

  • SIS for a seamless relationship between students and faculty

Students are one the most important stakeholders of an institution, institutions need to opt for techniques through which students can focus on their studies directly instead of indulging in day-to-day operations and tasks. A student information system is one of the leading technologies that is helping various institutions to create a systematic workflow of all the operations associated with a student. Having a student information system, institutions can attain and fill admission forms using the portal or mobile application. They can even get their enrollment numbers, can attain a systematic flow of timetable, examination details, and even the results. Institutions also get access to students’ activities from anywhere and anytime starting from their attendance to all other daily activities that are triggered for the overall growth of students and the institution.

  • Immersive learning for the enhanced learning experience

In the modern era of technology, learning and teaching are not only restricted to classrooms and textbooks. The students of today’s generation expect a more advanced and immersive experience that can solve their curiosity with practical solutions.

Immersive learning provides students with real-time experiences created through augmented, VR/AR reality. These real-time experiences can transfer students virtually to the planet and help them eat up all the information to satisfy their curiosity and hunger in the best manner.

  • Gamification for fun, and modern learning

Games have always been the first choice of any age group, but what if students can learn and faculty can teach using modern technology? Technology is changing in every aspect and now using different technological games classrooms can be personified to make lessons more interactive and understandable along with boosting participation, encouragement, and collaboration.

6 Steps to a Successful ERP Implementation

1. System Preparation:

At first, the standard version of Academia is installed on a centralized server with standard features and functionality upon collecting Institute’s basic data. Serosoft’s Team provides master data templates for the modules to be functional. Client needs to fill their master data in these templates and upload it to the software. Client’s team can then access the system as it gets ready for first use.

2. Gap analysis:

At the second stage, implementation team visits the institute and have one on one discussion with stake holders to map the actual performance of the software with the desired. This process of Gap Analysis is carried out to be sure to map to the most relevant processes being followed in the Institute. This mapping is done keeping in mind the best match of the processes and system’s capabilities.

3. Detailed deployment plan:

Based on understanding and feedback, we prepare a consolidated Configuration Analysis report which contains information on processes to be mapped to the designated modules. Mutual consent on the plan is taken before moving to step four.

4. Configuration, testing & deployment:

The software is configured as per the detailed configuration analysis report. Once the system is configured and deployed then the implementation team performs an integrity check on the system to ensure a proper unrestricted working.

5. Training & hand holding:

Training of all the required users is important to let the system run smoothly in the institution. We deliver training based on a ‘Train the Trainer’ approach to the designated coordinators from the Institute’s steering committee by holding centralized training workshops for functional representatives of the Institute.

6. Maintenance & enhancement:

After the completion of installation, we provide a comprehensive support to the institute. We use a state of the art support ticketing system, which allows clients to raise queries relating to the software, which gets resolved in stipulated TAT by our support team. On top of this all clients being covered under the comprehensive AMC program receives system upgrades in every three months.
